I bought a coop about 3 years ago and have been a member here for about as long, but something would always come up that would postpone getting chicks! My husband has never been around chickens and didn't want to be alone to take care of chicks while I travel, which is frequently. However, I knew he would fall deeply in love with them once he was around them, and boy was I right! He checks on our week-old chicks about 20 times a day. ;-) I don't have any plans to travel until next summer, but I'm fairly certain I have a dedicated chicken-sitter.
We have a Black Australorp, a Barred Rock, and a Blue Wheaton Ameraucana. Like any new mom, I am certain they are the most beautiful things in the world. So happy to have chickens in my life again!
