Thanks. The rose color took 3 (some spots 4) coats of paint even though it was primed. Hubby built it and I helped paint. I got the design ideas form various coops on the BYC coop page and some of my own. I do have to admit a few choice words were, er, * mentioned* during the construction phase

. It was worth it though.

I thought I'd add a few more pictures of the inside:

The girls are still a bit young here--but wanted to show the roost. I did round off the sides of the roost a bit more since this picture.

Beatrice at about 6-7 weeks old--the coop had not been painted yet. This is their guard dog, Cherokee. Cherokee is a Belgian Malinois that we trained to watch the girls (and not eat them) while they were chicks. She was a military working dog that we adopted after she hurt her knees (she is 5 years old here). We had them repaired surgically and shes in top shape again!

I know this is an old thread, but I'm in the midst of planning my coop/enclosed run structure, and yours looks like an inspiring example. I just brought home my first chicks yesterday, and am planning a 6 x 18 coop/run structure with a similar form factor for my 5 hens. Well, I *hope* I have 5 hens. Minneapolis requires a different permit for roosters...
