Gotta be quick, still have chores to do!
I'm in rural Northern Nevada. No, I'm not near Vegas. I'm closer to Boise, Idaho than Vegas.
Chickens: A barnyard mix - Mr. Crazyhead the Polish Tophat rooster, Copper the Rhodie Something Cross, Ms. Jedi the Black Something Cross, Raven the Black Something Else Cross, Ms. Muttonchop the Auricana Rhodie cross; Chirpy who's Mr. Crazyhead's only surviving son, who seems to have Rhodie and Polish colors and an Auricana comb. 7 White Rock hens from the feed store who are about he same age as Chirpy, and Peeps who hatched with a crippled foot and really bad wryneck but I saved her - only she thinks she's a duck and the chickens won't have her around. So she's in a makeshift tractor with the orchard ducks until she's big enough to go loose and not sneak out.
Ducks: A mess of Indian Runners, Khakis from the feed store, a couple of our own f2 Khaki wannabees we've been hatching ourselves (two of our drakes are Runner/Mallard crosses which would be F1 Khakis.) Our duck count hasn't stabilized yet, as we've been buying and hatching and selling.
Oh, and goats and dogs and cats and kiddos and geese. Somehow everyone manages to not eat each other. Except sometimes we eat the meat critters, but that's another detail.
The recent "saving hatching ducks" thread has been perfectly timed for a difficult clutch in our incubator, I'l respond to that later tonight.
