That’s CRAZY!!!! I lease my pony and it’s about $500 a month. I take group lessons which are an hour for $50 a lesson. Privates are $60 for 30 minutes.

English barns are usually more expensive in my experience. Dunno why!
I had a partial lease on my 4H horse and that was $200.
