find out what breeds make up your furry fido here

there are a lot of strays in South Carolina (usa) too. The rescue shelters are always full. Some one left 4 puppies near my house last month. I was so mad but all I could do was find homes for them. This Spring there were two pregnant strays in less than one mile near my home.

These two links are of Heeler mixes.

Did Blacky get darker with age? has she shown an interest in herding or maybe chasing smaller animals without trying to eat them?

lol im sorry but your last comment made me laugh because she does the exact opposite from trying not to eat them. i lost close to 100 dollars in chicks including everything for them food brooder exc. because she ate them all. never will i trust her again lol. she also chases the wild chickens here. she doesnt really show any interest in any ind of herding. i think she got more greyer as she got older at least in the last two years. i also have no idea what she looked like when she was younger because my fiance had her before i met him. she was already at least i think 6 or 7 when i first met blacky. every where that you see grey or white use to be a very light tanish white color(like in your first link) . blacky is at least 12 now.

i hate when i see strays specially pregnant or puppy. every time i go to the vet/shelter there is always dumped puppies at the end of the road that someone just left.

The blue tick markings were a dead giveaway lol. I couldn't tell the height, so that's why I wasn't sure if yours is beagle or walker. My puppy is half Treeing Walker and half black lab, but she could almost pass for a pure black and tan coonhound. Gorgeous breed group in my opinion.
For me, your pup's chest and legs were the giveaway. I've never seen any other breed with forelimbs that are constructed quite like the Walkers that I have seen. You threw me off when you mentioned the busy road - I thought perhaps you were hinting at something intended to discourage unwanted visitors. Given the shape of her head, Lab does make a lot more sense.

actually, herding is simply channeled prey drive. so many herding dogs will kill livestock more frequently than even some hunting breeds because they haven't been trained to channel that drive.
