I wanted to take "shop" but I couldn't because I was a female. By the time our kids were in Jr High they were able to choose shop or home ec. I told the girls to take shop and our son to take home ec. I figured as they got older they would learn how to cook or use tools by themselves. Our son actually loved home ec he was the only boy in a class full of girls.

We had a girl in our shop class. She went into "service write up" for a car dealer.

Half-Arabs here, could not afford purebreds, they were going for many thousands and some for shares, even before they were born! Some for hundreds of thousands, ridiculous! I was happy to get mine for under $3,000, and in foal at that. She took good care of me for many years. I will always miss her and both her babies. Many happy miles.
