Does anyone know of a website or search term that I can use to locate a poultry processor in my area? I am in North Carolina. Raising meat birds would be nice, but I'd much rather send them off for slaughter/butchering than do it myself....

I am having no luck finding a place....ack! (I've googled 'poultry processor north carolina' to no avail)

I looked in our local phone book. But for us the nearest processor was 2 hours away (in one direction) and you had to get the birds there at 6AM, which means leaving the house at 4AM, kinda crazy. So hubs made a killing cone out of a piece of ductwork metal and processed our couple of meaties himself and saved us a bunch of money. He said he'd process again. Good luck in your search.

I dont know if you have Amish in your part of the country but we are covered up with them. We found an amish man that will butcher out chickens for $2 each. You just drop them off with some coolers and pick them back up in a couple of hours.

We do have an Amish community down here. Never thought of that. I think I'll check out the possibilities. I guess I could call in an ad on our local radio 'home ad' show too...
