I'd love to show some of my chooks when they are older but where could I find standards of different breeds. I have Barred Plymouth rocks, Delwares, leghorns and white plymouth rocks.

There are books on this subject and most hatcherys have them I forget the web sites right now but will try to get them on here later.
Oh the books are The American Standard of Perfection and The Bantam Standard of Perfection

Firstly, where did you get your birds from?

Next, the American Standard of Perfection, made by the American Poultry Association is an excellent source and makes good reading material.

Some hatchery and a couple roos looks like they came as mutts from local source. Some look really close to the hatchery catalog drawings of delawares, but true to life picture would help out more.

Would like to try to figure out on my own what mixes they are.

Would Books-A-Million or Borders have those books?

Many of the poultry books are private printings, not normal book publication. So finding them at places like Borders or Barnes & Noble or Amazon simply won't happen. (Not that there aren't poultry books published through the regular process). The standards are private printings, and to purchase new copies you need to order it through the organization or a poultry or breed club who carries and resells copies to their membership.
