Finding hatching Pekin duckings drowned

I have a Pekin that has been setting and should be ready to hatch. This morning I found a half hatched ducking floating in there water pool. There is no way that it could have gotten there unless the mother duck or one of the other 2 ducks (1 male, 1 female) put it there. Will they do that? Has anyone else ever had this problem?

Yes, they will do that. You may need to restrict her access to water, or take the eggs and finish incubating them.
