finding previous posts

How do you find an older post, to give an update regarding the final outcome, on a question you asked weeks earlier? Is there an easier way than trying to remember when you posted it and searching through the numerous postings that have come in after you asked the question? If I know what day I posted the question, I go back to that day, but that's a bit a of a job too. And sometimes I can't remember what day it was.

Is this your own post or a thread you contributed to? If so click on index at the top bar, then scroll down to the bottom and there will be a spot to find your own posts. If that fails you can search by subject category and date but there is so much here that it is hard to find things sometimes.
