My girls are turning up their beaks at strawberries, peaches, apples, tomatoes, carrots, slugs, cheerios, broccoli, and yogurt. They'll sometimes eat blueberries, steel cut oats (not regular oats) and mashed bananas, but not always. What gives?

They are about 11 weeks old.

Do you leave it in there for them to eat later? Mine always turn up their nose at new foods, initially, then eat it later after they've looked at it for awhile. Once they've had it once though, they pig out.

Yeah, I have been leaving it and they still ignore it. I'm especially surprised at the ripe strawberries, peaches and watermelon.

Give it time, in fact introduce it a few weeks from now-they'll probably gobble it up. Also, try splitting everything open, mine won't touch anything unless it's opened up-picky!! lol I tried to give my girls yogurt when they were babies and they wouldn't touch the stuff-now at 16 weeks they mob me for it! Go figure

Have fun!

Don't feel bad. Mine won't eat any kind of lettuce, or broccolli, or zuccini, or anything on those lines. They do like clovers (with the yellow flowers), watermelon, (but I think they're getting sick of it,) cantalope, yogart.

OOh! Speaking of that. Try putting a little grape jelly in the yogart. If that doesn't work, put a little on your finger and offer it to them. Sometimes they just have to see someone eat it first.

Mine don't eat a lot of things yet either and I think it is because when I got them they'd only ever been fed out of a bowl. They were confused when I threw grain out on the ground and turned their nose up at their first worm!

I keep offering them things and they try them, then after a while they start eating more and more. Keep offering them!
