when the thread runs for 137 pages and 16 months. I would like to thank all of you for making me feel more normal. I am getting coop, books, feeders, incubator & brooder for Christmas after 31 years with no chickens. I finally just cried & my husband said ok. I have chicks & eggs on order, all Orps, which I didn't even know existed until 3 months ago. I have swayed my husband from 4 bantams to a rebuild of my garden shed into a 7 x 8 coop with a 12 x 16 run. That in addition to the a frame with a pen & the small coop he got me for Christmas. The project just keeps growing, from feed store chicks to my order of Lavender Orp eggs from Jody Hink. He has accepted I am getting more than 4 chickens. I think I might have broken him. You have all given me great information & support without even knowing I am out here. Thank you from an anxious newby.

if you have ever carried your eggs in your bra to your dr appointment or the store because your incubator was acting up. ( many times! and they all still hatched )

I do this if my hand are full during egg collection and one time I forgot one there... till my boyfriend gave me a hug that night

I can't even tell people apart very well unless I've known them a very long time (facial blindness), but all of my chickens have names and I know all of them on sight. It baffles me that I can tell Bubbles and Gaga apart at a glance, but can't recognize my own coworkers if I see them out of context.
