You know you are addicted to chickens when they come to you individually when you call their names. (I am in agreement to talking to chickens as someone else posted. Another sign of addiction.)
When 3 out of 4 of your guaranteed future egg layers turn out to be roosters, and you start pressing flesh like a politician to win the neighbors over to roosters. (2 out of 3 think its quaint, for now.)
In case that doesn't work, you get 3 more guaranteed chicks.
Ever hopeful you experiment with managing the crowing. Bringing treats out before he starts, no. Trying to train like a puppy not to bark, nope. Not opening the coop until post crowing time, sort of, for now.
Next is having the crowing rooster sleep in the house.
You know you're addicted to chickens when...
You have dreams about them escaping the coop and trying to fly.
When your outside all day taking photos of them.
You come home early from work/school because you miss them.
When you sleep cuddled up outside with them.
