Finish this sentence: "You know you're addicted to chickens when..."

You use Chicken Math to rationalize getting more than you really need :)

I just blogged about this and my addiction on my blog. I think my husband is beginning to think he may have to do an intervention.

....when the number of stories and photos of chickens give the ones about grand-kids a run for the money... LOL.. my doctor asks how my chickens are doing when I go in for check ups..

......When you're planning to take vacation time at work just so you can spend some time with your chickens.....

(I don't even HAVE chickens yet.. hahahaha)

1.The first thing you do when you get home is take off your shoes and socks and go scratch around with your girls.

2.Try teach the young ones how to talk chicken in a human accent.(Probably shouldn't have done this, in her repertoire of noises is this horrible raspy "Gawp" noise taught to her by yours truly)

3.Let them stay in your room when it rains really heavily because you don't want the to get cold. (only did this once and needed new bedsheets afterwards what with all the poop)

4.You look at things on the shelves in supermarkets and after thinking whether or not you would like it, you consider whether your girls would like it too.

5.Nothing gets you more excited then taking a freshly laid egg out of the nest box and it still being warm. (and sometimes sticky too if its REALLY fresh)
5 1/2 ........maybe except eating aforementioned egg

You go shopping and buy a bunch of veggies and herbs for the chickens and plush toys to go in the brooder, but forget to get something for dinner for the human family.

You grow veggies specifically for the ducks (I don't have chickens - yet), and have your family ask if they can have some too! First time hubby has asked to eat leafy greens! In this case mesclun, am growing some for the humans too this year! We have a ducky garden and a human garden....but I am guessing the two will cross purposes. Ducks get more veggies that we do!
