Thanks all, I didn't have the notification thing on so I didn't know y'all had replied!
Very kind words, thank you. I did wind up removing the string lights. The girls didn't mind them, and could barely reach them, but they became a favorite of mud daubers. I replaced it with a simple white rope light and it seems to be doing very well!
