Tomorrow is the big day for the junior Banties! As I had run out of coop space and was suddenly ”blessed” with six new hatchlings which I raised in the bathroom the first week of their life, I ended up buying one of those pre-fab coops we keep seeing advertised at home improvement sites. If I hadn’t been in such a hurry, and it hadn’t been on such a sale price making it cheaper than purchasing the lumber, I’d never have bought it... and at full price would have sure been disappointed, but at what I did pay for it... let’s just say you get what you pay for!

i do have to say these things are cute! And they are set up to be convenient. You can reach every part of this one from outside of the coop... the nesting boxes, the coop part and the outside run area. It has an included ramp from the run into the raised house (which is up above part of the run) and that run extends about 10’ in total, half beneath the hous

Congratulations on the coop! I know it can take a long time, took us 2 months to complete ours! Post photos of the move in day!:)

Prefabs often work fine for integration, since chicks are small enough that they don't need a ton of space, and it gives them a protected space to hang out while the rest of the flock gets to see them.
