So I learned from this that I should have minded my own business and let momma do her thing 🤦🏼‍♀️ but lesson learned. So here is where I am at, I put one of her eggs in the incubator because she had left the nest but when I candled it was alive. Today is day 23 and out of no where it pretty much broke out of the egg the fastest I have seen and seems strong and will not stop chirping in which Fiona can hear because I sat the incubator near her. Now Fiona is non stop clucking and the all of the chicks including the new one are urgently peeping. Fiona seems very unsettled almost like she is calling it. Should I move the incubator so she can't hear until night when I try to slip it under her? Or do I leave it near her so she can hear the chick who is still wet?

The first chick hatched Tuesday evening, the second hatched Wednesday afternoon and then the new one today. Those were all the fertile eggs and she isn't sitting on eggs now but is still alone with her 2 babies in a small enclosure and nests with them at night in the original place they hatched. I sat the incubator up next to her I had very little hope it would hatch and the incubator wasn't acting quite right but here we are.

Ok so she's up and about with them during the day now. How active are they?

You haven't added a location to your profile so I have no idea what time it is where you are. If she's off the nest all day and the other chicks are already quite active you definitely need to wait until night to try putting the chick under her. What you do until then probably depends on how long a wait that is, and how agitated she seems.

What's the temperature in the area you have them in? If it's a small, warm space and she's still spending lots of time sitting on the chicks to keep them warm, you might be able to try giving her the chick as soon as it's fluffed up and able to get about a bit.

Are you able to lower the humidity in the incubator now it's hatched? That will help it fluff up faster.

Sorry this is my first forum and I didn't realize I missed the location. I am in Northeast Ohio it's 77 right now at 7:26 pm. It will be a low of 63 tonight so she will be on the nest at night she has been settling down and then the chicks disappear under her.
They are currently in the same small cozy corner of my garage where she has been the whole time. The other two chicks spend a lot of time under her wings but when they aren't they seem full of energy and curiosity. To be honest I gotta buy a new incubator when I checked it was about 70% I don't know how to lower it without opening the lid.

Were you able to put the chick under her last night? Did she accept it?

I know you are suppose to slip it in while they are sleeping but at 2 am 😴 I go out to check to see if the chick is dry and they were all awake!! The peep was up and peeping and the momma was clacking and then the 2 others were awake and up running around. 🤦🏼‍♀️. The chick was 90% dry but more greasy then wet 🤷🏼‍♀️ (which I don't know why) so I just put it close to her, so much for her sleeping through it. She made a lot of sounds I haven't heard and it was peeping away she was just staring and then out of no where she pokes it gently and then moves it with her whole head right under her breast after a few minutes they were all quiet and I haven't seen the chick since. But she is still sitting in the same spot. So I have no idea I assume she is accepting it or she suffocated it.
( I could have answered with one sentence but instead ..)

Sounds like she's doing fine.

I just went out to check and she was standing with the older chicks and they were all scratching and the new baby got kicked out of the way a few times. It didn't look intentional but what do I know. But then she settled down and it was under her wing. So I don't know. It looks much smaller but the other chicks are 3 days older 🤷🏼‍♀️ I am thinking I should just let them be, what do you think?

It's common for them to get kicked about a bit. It'll soon learn to stay out of the way!

Younger ones generally catch up pretty quickly when there's only a few days difference ime. I'd continue to keep an eye on them just to be on the safe side but wouldn't worry too much.
