As many of you probably know the fireworks are bad this year in the neighborhood. Couldn't be worse timing for me. I was going to put my chicks out next week. They are going on 5 weeks and are ready. The only problem is that right around 10 people start shooting off illegal fireworks in Minnesota. I mean the really loud ones that sound like gunshots and reverberate in my chest. I politely asked one gentleman who was at the end of The Alley if he could stop and he did. But multiple other people were shooting them off so it didn't make any difference. I know I should expect this living in the city but I'm afraid the birds are going to freak out. Any suggestions?

That s unfortunate, I'd put them out during the day for sure. If they happen only at night asses your chicks reaction, then decide if they need to be kept in the brooder.

My birds are much less concerned than I am! We too have idiots nearby shooting off the big ones, and I'm really not pleased. My dogs are also offended, and standing in the pasture with my horses is is --tricky-- when a big one goes off!
At night, when the noise begins, your birds will be in their coop roosting, and likely won't actually be too concerned. And they need to be out of the house!
