How will our 3 Aylesbury ducks cope with the sound of fireworks? We always have a display in the garden but this is our first year with ducks. My original plan was to bring them inside in a large dog cage but I'm wondering if being out of the coop/house will be more traumatic for them. Help!

My runners are pretty good with noises, but they do have their limits.

If you are setting off fireworks right there in the yard, I would bring them in and make sure that they have enough elbow room, and nice food and water and bedding, and I think they will be fairly content as long as they have each other.

I would also offer them a few light treats during the evening.

And a little background music - I am not kidding. Nothing loud, but something that will mellow out the pop-bang from outdoors. Might they like Vivaldi's Four Seasons?

P.S. I like your blog.

Thanks, I think I will bring them in. Good idea on the treats and music!

Thank you! :)
