Sadly, when we candled the egg, the chick was not moving and had begun emitting a rancid smell. We ended up having to remove daffodil from the incubator I’m replacing the egg with the a sibling from the same hen and roo, if you’d like to name it?

Welcome to the August hatch a long of 2024! In loving memory of the 30 hens we lost in January to bobcats.

You can pick an egg and name it, flower themed. There are currently 9 eggs available, including 1. 1 will most likely not make it, as it’s an older one with the membrane showing. 6 is already taken.

All eggs collected today, some might be slightly older. 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, and 6 are bantam Mille fleur/porcelain d’uccle eggs. 7 is a copper maran, 9 is an Easter egger, 8 and 10 are olive eggers.

Taken: 9,7,4,1,5,8,3,6,10

10 is a d’uccle bantam mix, And 11 is a cream leg bar
