Had Vitamin B complex on grocery list. Hubby came home with Vitamin B-12. My question is can B-12 be used or should I return it? Going to get B Complex. Is there anything else besides B Complex, Corid and Safeguard I need?

Since hubby doesn’t mind the spending spree, now’s the time!

Add:

* store brands are always acceptable

hibiclens (chlorhexidine scrub) and betadine (providine).
Both are extremely valuable antimicrobials for when a wound needs cleaning or disinfecting.
(Great for humans too)

Human calcium suppliment such as caltrate +D

Personal type lubricant -whatever is cheap and plain.

Medical exam style gloves
(Good for treating and also cleaning your coop)

Cheap ear loop masks.
(Hospital type masks)
Good for cleaning your coop,
*Also doubles as an emergency chicken diaper if you have to bring one inside

Preparation H

I'd rather have b-2 than b-12. Both are a bit accessory; they're in the b-complex.

Selenium's a good addition to E. Vitamin A's nice too.

Thermometers are nice. So is aspirin. (use 325 mg/gallon of drinking water)

I like to keep penicillin G on hand. Syringes are useful with it.

Nystatin's useful for sour crop, but I've never actually had sour crop (knock on wood) so I'll just throw it out there so you can think about it depending on how cautious you're feeling.

casportpony would recommend baytril, so I'll do it for her.

epsom salts are a good thing to have on hand, just in case.

Looks like that is all I need to add. All the others are in our medicine cabinet, including low dose asprins. Gloves and masks under the sink.
Thank You for replying

I wanted B Complex, he got the wrong one. When I go to town I am going to get B Complex. Have low dose asprins in our cabinet, Epsom Salt under sink.
Is Baytril at TSC or through vet? Not a problem if through vet, she will do it.

Technically, it's prescription. Realistically, you just have to buy the stuff labelled for large animals. I used the tablets that are formulated for dogs once (was a kid. Had an allowance-based budget. I'm not sure how well I did the math, but it seemed to work.)
