i have a palm egg zipping.it is almost out.

this is my first turkey.
i will hug him,and squeeze him and i will name him George.

lol.. that's not a bunny rabbit!

but he just brought home 3 dozen eggs that belong to a co-worker of his... they want me to hatch them...


I had that space in the chicken bator reserved for something special!!!

*sighs*.... well.. three more weeks til the chicken bator will have room again.....

DH informed me last THursday afternoon that he said he would bring 2 doz hatching eggs for a school science project because the original eggs were MIA . . at the USPS and he was chaging $4 for a dozen!!!! All my time and effort turning the eggs and caring for them . . . unpaid labor.

Heck, I enjoy the hatching process so much, I've wondered how much I'd have to pay people to take the chicks off my hands so I can keep hatching!

Me too! Not as a breeder, because I haven't any sequestered breeds, but just as somebody with chicks. The gal at my favorite feed store has been giving out my number for folks who want chickens too, not just hatching eggs for school science experiments. She's believe she's trying to help because she knows me and knows I do these hatches....

If a pullet has started to lay, she's been here long enough for me to become attached to her. Sell her to someone? Ha! MAYBE, with a full background check, personal references and a home visit, you might get to buy a layer from me. Younger pullets, well, I am really bad at sexing and nobody wants cockerels, so no sales there.

In my limited experience: I use the snood development, need to compare to see BIG v. small and eventually the boys out grow the girls. Again, comparison.
