My sons putting in the chicks.

My chicks that I hatched about 7 weeks ago.

My broody that hatched out two chicks for the Easter hatch, They are behind her.

Awesome job! Seems like you put it up fast (basing it off your picture progress).

Nothing I like better than free child slave labor. Unfortunately, my son is now 31, so I can't always get him. On the other hand, he is a gym rat, so if I need anything heavy moved, I don't even have to help, he just throws whatever it is on his shoulder. When my 42" plasma TV died, he picked it up and carried it out of the house to the car all by himself. Very handy, I'm a weakling.

to both Wisher and cmfarm. Even when the pet does something wrong and has to be put down it isn't easy.

I love to see other's creataivity at work! The girls look happy. My kids do a bit of work around here too. It's good for them.

I'm hoping my kids never move out. Get a job, yes. But live with me. THey are only 8 and 10 now , so I have them for a while longer. My 10 year can move the 50# grain bags out of the car--very helpful. Maybe he will buy mom a 42" plasma TV someday and install it!!

I'm not hatching turkeys, although I did set chicken eggs today. Just stopped in to say...

Strombergs is having an Incubator Sale!

THe temptation . . . . 1muttsfan . . . . this is torture!

I have absolutely no problem with a quick gunshot as a method of euthanasia. It crossed my mind more than once when I was waiting on the vet to get to my horse. I am so sorry that you and your family had to go through that. It is tough when hard choices have to be made. You made that choice and it was the right thing to do. Shooting is better than the pound in my opinion. He was struggling to stay home and he did. That is a good way to go. Lots of hugs to you and your family. I hope the child is okay and I hope you can move forward quickly.

Thank you three for the condolences. I am fine now that it is over. It was just hard that day and a relief when he was finally gone, I had his mom, I raised him from the night he was born, and I had him for almost 30 years. Now, the only horse I have is his half brother, who is 2 years older.

It looks pretty good, but there is something not quite right with it. Hummm, I think it is the orientation, it needs to be further south. Yes, that's it, further south. A lot further south.....

....like in Alabama!

Seriously, that is awesome! Great job!

I set my chicken eggs today also! I think you're in! If you want to hatch along with us, we'll be happy to have you. All you have to do is post a note to Chooks as to what size and color you want in your straight jacket! Wait! Did you say SALE and INCUBATOR in the same sentence? BRB.............

So how many chicken eggs need to be set for 11 turkey eggs? Why, you ask.
I wanted my turkeys to get off so a good start so I set 9 dozen chicken eggs. I think I need more than a straight jacket. I set Serama, Showgirl, EE, OE, Icelandics, LF and bantam Langshan, RIR, Golden Laced Polish, Cuckoo Marans, Welsummers, BLRW, and bantam Wyandotte. (and for Deb, a Partridge in a pear tree).
