I put 2 in lockdown with humidity at 80+; these are BR from my small flock. Hoping !I'm way behind y'all but I know there was someone else set some turkey eggs the same day as me - Arielle was that you? Anyway, I am on day 17 now but thought I'd report with the results of my 15-day candling, which weren't that good. I started with 10 eggs and I'm down to 2The others were completely clear, and when I broke them open, they looked just like eggs that have been sitting for two weeks - no sign of development. Since they were locally acquired eggs and not shipped, I suspect a lack of fertility, and there's nothing I can do about that.![]()
Hearing from all the people who started with more eggs than me and ended up with just one poult, I feel I'll be lucky if the two that remain make it all the way but![]()
Glad you are getting a few!!! 12+ 1 = really cute!I was pulling out the unhatched eggs and found one poult that had pipped and died. I was so close
Once I got to the last tray I heard peeping and found a chick hiding in the back. Nothing was going on in there last night and I had a pipped turkey, a live chick and one of the quail was almost out of his shell. I also had a rotten egg.
I can still smell it. uck! Since i have my better maglight back I could see through shells better except the turkey eggs. ???? They look dark, so I put them back in just in case. But the others were either clear or quiters, so I harched out what developed. Wish I knew why the other one didn't make it out. So I have 12 chicks now and 1 quail. I'm so disappointed. But so glad I got something.![]()
Sorry to hear that!! I'm still waiting for my last two--I'm worried . . .
