First Annual Cinco de Mayo Turkey Hatchathon- Join us! Set Day: Easter

THis is soooooooo interesting. I do think that our diets and especially the animals ( livestock and pets) are fed a very poor diet out of a bag. Don't get me wrong, I'm not opposed to bagged food rather, a healthy life needs a few ad ons like green leafy vegies. lol

we had a dog with cancer.. as soon as we changed her diet the tumors went away.. our local vet was stunned

Quote: I continue to be frustrated by VMD's and MD's--it's like the Emperors New Clothes, a conspiracy of beliefs and practices to treat diseases, and not enough prevention is taught to the next generation of doctors.

I push my kids to eat vegies, for breakfast when I can, and dry cereal is gone from our house. THey are good salad eaters.

Cancer runs in my family--I'm trying to prevent it. WHat did you feed your dog when you changed the diet?

no corn at all.. no commercial food

we were feeding a "real food" diet... chicken, rabbit, rice and vegetables
finally, after the tumors were gone.. we switched her over to "taste of the wild" salmon just because it was easier.. had I had more time I would have kept her on a real food diet
but even on taste of the wild the tumors did not grow back

I moved the poults and tutors out to the coop today. They have their own separate area with sand bedding and their Eco Glow. They are loving it so far! I'll be able to get some better pics now that they can spread out more! They really are growing fast.

How old do they have to get before I can tell males and females apart? Some are clearly larger than others.

Here is the last pic from inside the dog crate brooder.........love the coloring on these Bourbon Reds!!!

Quote: THe commerical feeds are grain based, mostly corn, and the grains really lack the micronutrients that are in vegetables/fruits and wild caught (or grass fed) animal meat.

I googled call of the wild pet foods and its available in Massachusetts!

I love Taste of the Wild dog food, it's all we feed to my four. The Great Dane was having skin issues on Eukunuba and the "gas" was so bad you almost couldn't be in the same room with her. We switched them over and her problems have been resolved. The three Border Collies have been doing great and my oldest (10) has actually put on a little weight, even with her activity level. The family has always called her a stick with legs.

Love the food!

And I agree, they do best with Salmon, it is the lowest protein of the four types (lamb, poultry, bison). The lower protein seems to make the problem

better.

(I love my Emma, but she does lie on the couch with me

I haven't looked at the ingredient list yet, are Lactobacillus and the like added to the food?
