First attempt at incubating eggs!

How long after the first pip did it take for the chick to hatch.I have one that started over 24 hours ago and has not opened up yet.Still peeping very loudly.None of the others have started yet.

it varied a bit hun, around 4 hours though from memory. our hatch is now completed! we have 12 healthy chicks, and #13 hatched with a bit of help but is slowly on the decline, hubby is coming to help me 'put it to sleep' as it has curled legs.

if its still making noise i would leave it go, just keep an eye on it

I checked my humidity and it was 52% so I put a sponge in and it went up to 65% so maybe that will help in the hatching

I have a chick but not the one that I was watching,its a splash orp.Humidity is up to 67%.The other egg that has been trying to hatch for hours is still chirping and rocking,the other chick has moved it around a bit so maybe that will help it to hatch

Have not seen any movement of the other egg,I think it died,but will wait untill morning,having a hard time keeping humidity up,I have a very wet sponge in there but it keeps going down unless its the hydormeter its slef that is not working properly.Hope when I get up in the morning they have all hatched and are healthy!LOL

I have four babies this morning,today is hatch day so hoping by end of day I have lots more.I have 11 polish and 15 orp eggs
