First attempt to hatch shipped eggs

Attached the photos. He designed these and printed them after doing a lot of reading about how shipped hatching eggs seem to have a better chance if kept upright. (Pointy end down) So we figured after the rough start they had by even getting here we'd try it out. He places crosses on a lot of the products he develops.

Go into it knowing that shipped eggs don't always hatch. The closer the farm is to you the better chance they will hatch. If you have never even hatched before practice on eggs from neighboring towns. One more hint, the smaller the egg the better they hatch.

Let rest a day before putting in incubator, and if the air cell moves don't turn for 3 days.

My first attempt to incubate eggs was awful. I had a cheap “yellowbator” someone called it. I got it off Amazon. I couldn’t regulate anything and it turned eggs through the hatch. Terrible! I had so many eggs that I opened after 25 days and I had chicks dead in the shells.
I learned a lesson. Upgraded to a Brinsea and my next hatch was 23 healthy chicks out of 28 set eggs! And they hatched on my birthday!
I’ve never tried shipped eggs. I don’t know anyone with white leghorns so that’s why I’m trying shipped eggs. The hatchery is an hour and a half away. I have company otherwise I probably would have driven to pick up the eggs.

I appreciate so many great suggestions on hatching shipped eggs.
I received my dozen leghorn hatching eggs in exactly 24 hours from hatchery to unpacked and resting on my counter!
I let them sit on the counter in an egg carton for a little over 36 hours. I candled them as I unpacked them and to me all the air cells were pretty identical in size. None seemed to move at all.
As you can see I cut an egg carton and placed it in the cradles to help keep the eggs stable, upright and so they don’t move when the incubator turns them. Temperature is 99.6 and humidity is 64%. I set the eggs on February 7.

Why is your humidity so high during incubation?
I think you should drop it to about 50% and raise it to 65% during lockdown

I thought I read it was supposed to me that RH %!!!! Then go up to 70% at lockdown. Oh no! Please don’t tell me I’ve hurt them! I know shipped eggs are a gamble and I want to do thing correctly!
I’ll start to lower it slowly over time. Thank you!

sweety, just adjust your incubator humidity dial to 50% right now ... I think you have an BRINSEA EX model right!? Your eggs will be fine, you haven't hurt them at all, there is still lots of time for them to grow the appropriate size air cell for when they hatch!

Take a deep breath, relax ... all is good and all will be good

Thank you! I have adjusted it but of course it has added moisture to achieve the higher humidity so it won’t change too quickly.
I know somewhere on a post or article about working with shipped eggs, I should have the higher humidity. It was contradictory to the manual and what I did last hatch. I thought it was due to them being shipped.
