First backyard flock!

We are very new to chickens, just got our first batch of five 2 day old chicks almost a month ago - they are 4 weeks today! We got a Salmon Faverolle, Buff Orpington, Wellsummer, Rhode Island Red & a Cuckoo Maran. We are settting up our inherited coop and giving it an extra surrounding run, to separate the chickens from our two dogs, who are also backyard dwellers. For now our chicks are living it up in a large dog crate - they started life here in a big metal washtub but outgrew that space last week.

I heard about BYC from a friend, and I'm looking forward to joining this awesome community and absorbing all the knowledge and advice everyone has to offer this newbie chicken mama!
