First batch of coturnix quail! 15 babies are out!!!!!!!

As soon as my mother gets home with some none-slip rubber mat to put over the wire in the incubator. I candled about a week ago and 19 possibly 20 out of 24 are fertile. Today is day 14. When should I start to expect them to pip/hatch? I'm so excited!!!!

How did you candle them? I am not having very good luck with that. Also, are Coturnix the only quail that hatch at 17 days? I bought the eggs from a farmers market and was so excited I forgot to ask what kind they were. They did tell me they will hatch at 17 days.

I candled at 7 days. Only one was to dark to tell if it was fertile or not. I just kept them all in there until they are done hatching. I could only see veining in them and very VERY small embryos starting.

Nothing yet today. Last night before I went to bed I swore I seen an egg rocking! Tomorrow will be day 16 and from what people have said I should start seeing pips.

I'm sooooo happy!!! How long after they pip will they be out? I'm hoping to have more pips by the time I get home and possibly a chick or 2.
