First broody hen

She has 6 eggs under her. It appears that 3 are fertile. If we wanted more chicks could we purchase day old chicks and would the broody mom take them in with her others?

Yes, you just have to sneak the new chicks under the mama at night; she should accept them fine.

Ok so it appears only 2 are fertile. When should I take the non fertile eggs from her as I was afraid she would miss them and stop being broody?

Chickens can't count so as long as there still are some eggs in the nest, she will continue to sit.
