In the Brooder
I just got a Rooster from my Uncle and Aunt and I don't know for sure what he is I think he is a mix but not sure maybe some of you can help me find out what he is. I am going to tell you the shape of his feathers are not my fault my uncle did not like his behavior and was more than happy to shove him in a little rabbit cage. That is why I asked for him, I am not sure were they got him or the hens but they to do not know for sure what he is and if more pics are needed just let me know.
He is happy to peck things out of Cleo's hair for her and has yet to show aggression to her.
He has shown some aggression toward my puppy but in his defense my puppy is rambunctious and it is very mild and is mostly when warnings are not seen or not obeyed. No blood has been spilled yet.
He loves his new freedom and has shown no aggression toward me but has attacked my boyfriends mother while I was gone and she had to handling it by herself. When he attacked her he cut her leg but then he tried again she blocked him with her foot until he fled from her and he has not attacked her since.
Big question how concerned should I be about the damage the cage he was constantly shoved into did to his comb and that I think he has blood on the back of his head feathers for they look reddish were he has no other reddish feathers on him and they have been fading they look more white like most of his other feathers?
These are his tail feathers although you can't see them very well he has some black feathers that were broken by the cage he was in.
This is his new coop this was his first time being in it he had no idea what the ramp was or what to do with it although he learned fast that he could go up it what took him forever was learning he could go through the hole to go in side.
The thing I love most is that he likes to follow me unless he is around the other birds that my boyfriend's mother has she has different types of Bantams, Geese, and Turkeys.
This is what his legs and feet look like hope it helps and thanks so much for looking at this and hope some one out there can help me. Even if not I loved sharing about my big Rooster and I am so glade I got him I look forward to doing my best to make him as happy as I can and keeping him healthy and I hope he has many more years to live for we do not know how old he is ether.
