Well it's day 23 and finally my first chick is starting to hatch. I've been browsing this site the past few weeks and it has been a wealth of knowledge and kept me sane through this process. Day 21 I was convinced I had done something wrong and all of the chicks were dead. Day 22 I candled them without moving their positions in the incubator and saw a chick internally pipping which gave me hope. Now two eggs (there are 9) have externally pipped and one is rocking back and forth. I set the iPad on the incubator this morning before going to work then before my son left for school he set up a Skype call with me on my other iPad so I could watch the progress all day. I didn't see much but was comforted by the chirping. Since I've been home I've continued with the "Skyping" It's nice to be able to view the "action" from the comfort of my recliner. I'm so excited!
