Hi,
My name is Teri. I have 4 chickens and 2 ducks (had more but we have been fighting a fox). I decided this year I wanted to try to raise some ducks. I have four viable eggs in the incubator and two have created small holes. The hole in one appeared last night and the other must have been made some time during the night. The humidity is above 85%. I whistle and hear an answering chirp. My daughter is driving me crazy but I am trying to be patient and let the chicks hatch if they can. I feel like I should give them at least to tonight to see if they can make progress, is that correct? Also the membranes look a little yellow. Here is a picture of two which have started to make their escape. I was concerned about the color of the membrane. The one on the right has not changed much since last night around 1130 pm. That egg's hole has gotten just a bit bigger. The other is making much better progress. This picture was taken at 1030 am, this morning.
Big question, I watched the video on assisting. I think its still early, but am just concerned the one is stuck.
Thank you for any comments or help.
