First Complaint

Can I just say this, I want a sign to put in my yard that says something a bit like this:

IF YOU DON'T WANT TO STEP IN CHICKEN POO, DON'T COME IN MY YARD!!!!!

My neighbors complain because they step in dooze when they come in MY YARD!!!!!!!!!!!! Duh, my chickens free range 80% of the time, and chickens DOOZE!

haven't had problems with them going next door, but our lot is huge!

My "friend" (one who sold me three roos as hens, keep their chickens in disgusting coops, and don't really take care of their animals that well, even though they're SUPER nice) lets there chickens free range to there neighbors house and the neighbors don't care as long as they don't poop in there yard and make it dirty...lol.

Yea we finished the fence. Didn't cost to much, but now they are sad. So We made a grazing fence so they can borrow our chickens for bug controle. We have trees that separte us on all sides of our property and for the longest time they would never go up to their deck, but now they have gotten comfortable with them. Crazy girls.

I think people who don't know much about chickens (and I was included in those) don't realize that chickens don't just walk around and eat bugs -- they dig and scratch and tear the smithereens out of flower beds. Plus, as we know, chickens poop....A LOT! I'm sure your neighbors were assuming that the chickens wouldn't rip up the flower beds.

I'm happy for you that you are still on excellent terms with your neighbors and they still want your chickens to come over on occasion. Sounds like it turned out to be a good situation for all. You're pretty lucky -- situations that started out like yours don't usually end as well as yours has!

Wow! How lucky are you to have neighbors like that. Me...I gotta shoot a neighbors cat and then 3s. She sees nothing wrong with her barn cats "watching" my birds. She's old and I can't really reason with her so.....time to take out the problem.
