First crowing

My roosters have just started crowing. I can't tell you how exciting this is for me. That random cock a doodle do come echoing in the windows and I just LOVE IT>

Wonder how long till the eggs start now.

Congrats! I agree with you - I love to hear the rooster crow. Although, I have had two roo's with bad crows - one sounded like a trumpeting elephant. The people down the road from us have a rooster with the most beautiful, musical crow I have ever heard!

its just been a blast. I can't wait to hear the rest. One is the loudest now. I haven't really heard any of the others. I wish roosters laid eggs... I'd have a whole flock of them

Oh me too! I am sure I have one roo, 17 weeks old ... can't wait for the crowing. I'm thinking of going out to the coop before sun rise just to check it out

The lakenvelder is only 10 weeks but he is something else.... I think he might be too pretty to send to the freezer farm.

I WOULD LIKE TO KNOW WHAT MAKES ONE STOP CROWING. WHEN I FIRST GOT HIM HE WAS CROWING THEN ABOUT 2 MONTHS AGO HE JUST STOPED. THEN SOMEONE SUGGESTED THAT WE GET ANOTHER ROO WHICH WE DID SO HE WOULD HAVE COMPETITION WITH THE LADIES. BUT THAT DIDN'T WORK. STILL NOT CROWING. ANY SUGGESTIONS OR ADVICE IS WELCOME.

That is strange they generally don't ever stop crowing specially when there is another roo to give it competition let me know if you find out what happened.

My 12 week old Silver Laced Polish gave me 3 crows the other morning. He heard me coming to let them out of the coop and let it out! It was not the prettiest sounding crow

but I hope his crow will mature with age.
