First Day Outside - 5 Week Old Silkies

[Enchanted Sunrise Farms]

Well, my two little silkie kids are now 5 weeks old. It was nice and sunny yesterday so took them outside for the first time. i started by putting them in an empty aviary. They stood there, frozen, for a very long time.

So i took them out on the lawn. This is one very concerned little chicken.

Anyhow, they both stood on the lawn for a long time, kind of frozen. Every once in a while one of them would pick up a foot, or put their beak down by the grass. But it was definitely very traumatic for them. After a while i took them back inside. Maybe we can try again this afternoon.

I have some silkies at 5 weeks old that are no where near as feathered as yours!

They do look concerned and look at that doo. Maybe they were afraid being outside would mess up there doo. Try again and we want more pics too. PEACE
