My two silver seabrights for them today is day 21. I thought yesterday was,... no sign of activity.
am on day 7 for six EE's. my week old chicks are doing fine.

Glad to hear it Sis!! Well, I'm back on day 1 again. Once you get past the first week, it doesn't quite seem so bad. Then the second week goes by, then you realize, Wow, they are going to hatch next week!!

OK, confession time again...

I snuck a couple Silkie/ CA white mixes in the bator a couple weeks ago. They are both doing fine, although I have no idea what day I'm on with them. I'm such a good parent!! LOL.

Also, I found out that my 2 new hatchlings, that aren't so new any more, are both roos. I need a Welsummer roo but now I've got options, LOL. How's that for optimism??

If only I hatch out 9 hens, then I'll be on track. I imagine the odds are stacked against me.

MagsC, what's going on with you and your bator??

Shane

Well, I have the Polish and Serama eggs in my incubator that are supposed to hatch this weekend, but typically it seems my hatches are a day or so behind.
I have more in the bator, lol, and will update as they go to the hatcher.
I know the next two hatchings are my aunts ducks and 9 Americauna eggs.
Shut off the incubator??? Not a chance, lol
I got some Buff Brahma eggs in the mail today and have Light Brahmas coming from Tori next week.

two roos? you do need to have a hatch of 9 hens!
Last hatch I had 8 hens out of 26 chicks!
I have no idea on the sex of the 5 that are a week old. I tried looking at their feathers and said, I give up, maybe they are all roosters!
How did you tell on your two?
no activity on the two silver seabrights eggs. today was thier hatch day. maybe durring the night.........still turning the 6 EE's.
I think they have been here for a week now, 14 days to go. they are green eggs and for me very hard to candle.
My 5 week old Barred Rock Bantys got a little wet tonight in a light rain. They were outside , why didn't they go into thier shelter? My husband said I didn't need to blow them dry, they would be alright.

My bators are never off! I've been adding button quail eggs as they hatch since 9/14. Tomorrow will be day 14 and it's time to move some to the hatcher, then will add several more each day. This is my first-ever staggered hatch. Mags got me motivated to try it

Welsummers are a bit easier to tell early on than many breeds. You can see my post and pics in the 'what breed or gender is this' thread.
