First Day :)

Congratulations of your babies too! Here, there is still only one baby out. Keeping my fingers crossed that at least one more hatches, though they were all pipping, hoping not to run into any problems.
My daughter is totally in love with this little guy/girl, he keeps hopping up to the plastic on the incubator as if to say "are you my mom??" LOL

Awww...still just one? Well, don't give up yet - today is day 21 so

Hope you are feeling better!!!!

I do feel a little better this morning (just kind of achey) except for being on pins and needles praying for more to hatch out! I am such a worrywart.

I am a worrywart also. I have 2 pheasents hatched and waiting on at least 5 more eggs that are trying to hatch. I don't think the others will hatch. I am just worried that something will happen and these 5 eggs will not finish hatching. Oh and one of the baby pheasents is a cry baby. If I am in there where he can see me he calms down but let me get out of sight and he has a fit.

Well, then I am in good company!

Have run into a slight problem. The heating lamp my mom gave me (from when she had her chickens) is WAY to warm for the smaller brooder. Would it be safe/okay to put a heating pad under the brooder and "test" it first? It has three settings, low, medium and high. I am just trying to find a quick fix until I can get a smaller heating lamp. If there IS such a thing!!! I thought about the heating lamp because its what I used when our dog had pups in the winter, I put it under the whelping box and also when I bottlefed a kitten.

I would just use a smaller wattage regular bulb. Thats what I use in my brooder and just moniter the temps.

I don't know what to do. I'm thinking about candling late tonight to see if there's any movement.

I hate to think that this little one that was rocking just a couple days ago might not make it.

Any advice??

Shane

And nhnanna I took your advice and put a 60 watt bulb into the heat lamp, its working well. I hope he makes it being hes alone?
I saw rocking in a couple of eggs so maybe he wont be by himself for too long.
