the duck eggs taste like a regular egg, the turkey eggs taste the same also. My turkeys have started laying I get 2-3 turkey eggs a day. I thought I had toms, I guess I was wrong. I will post some pics of the turkeys & thier eggs. I was shocked, this my first run with turkeys, we planned on raising them for thanksgiving, now I am not sure, they are laying, should I do it?? I may still end up with a tom only 2 are laying for sure, none of them have been fertilized if checking is the same as chicken eggs. Now I really want a bator......

Well, we have had 5 duck eggs in all laid now. One was a soft shell... I took a picture, and today's was lopsided! I a sure they will get it all figured out.

Celeste had duck egg pancakes last night and loved them. It really looked no different than a chicken egg!

I will post the soft egg and the lopsided egg pictures soon.
Just got back from camping yesterday and have TONS of pictures to go through!

and the leghorns are laying now too... well, one is for sure!

We have had 8 eggs now.
She is a steady layer, but size and shape have been inconsistent!

does anyone know.. is the big egg the normal size for a
duck egg? The other eggs are about the size of a Large
Chicken egg.

So far I have not eaten a fried or scrambled duck egg,
but Celeste had one in pancakes. When we cracked it
open, it looked just like a chicken egg.. and why not?
It looked more like a regular chicken egg than
Midnight's eggs do.

LOL Bluey... Celeste drove me nuts with the squishy egg wanting to see what was inside. SO I let her cut it open. It was.. yep, you guessed it, just a duck egg! no aliens or anything.

Hubby would have barfed! LOL!

Maybe my ducks are competing with the chickens?

Are you sure that your's aren't laying somewhere that you aren't finding them?

Gosh, mine are 3 months old. They have grown so fast, 3 Rouens and 5 Khaki Campbells. I am so ready for duck eggs, jealous!!! I read the breeds we have take 5 - 7 months. Can't wait
