We have 9 Khaki Campbells and this morning found 2 eggs in their pen!

They free range a LOT so I'm now thinking... what if they've been laying them for awhile?! Will do a search today.

We also have not confirmed that all 9 ducks are female, in fact I'm fairly sure that at least one is male. How old are Khaki drakes when they are visibly male? They all look the same for now, aside from some slightly different markings in their feathers. :-/ I guess for now I'll have to candle the eggs to make sure they aren't fertilized until I know for sure whether we have a drake or not?

Okay, I'll do my best to get a pic of all of them together to see if I can get some help identifying any drakes!! :)

There is at least one that's been mounting the others while they're in their pool (eep!) and I hear a very deep low quack from one of them (probably the same one? not sure!) off and on.

EDIT: I bought them as day old ducks on May 4th, so they are 17 weeks old. :) I have read that some drakes won't get darker heads until 20-22 weeks. I wasn't sure on that, though! It's hard to find detailed breed-specific info, if anyone has KC specific resources they like please share!! :)

This might be a dumb question but are these first eggs edible? Are they ready to go?!
