first duck eggs

Hi ! I got my first duck eggs this week. They were very different from each other even though the ducks are all the same. One was bigger than a typical chicken egg, one was much smaller than a chicken egg, and one was the size of a chicken egg but the shell is soft. What's up with this?

It takes a bit for them to even out when they first start laying. In the week or so they should be a bit more normal. If you haven't already I would put out some free choice oyster shell to help with soft shelled eggs.
