I just got my first egg from my rhode island red on Saturday at about 2:00pm, so I was expecting one by at least 5:00pm yesterday. Now it is Monday at 6:30pm and still haven't gotten a 2nd egg ?? The only reason I thought of was that she didn't get enough calcium in her grower/starter feed ?

Deep breath - this is perfectly normal with a new layer. You will see some stops and starts before she finds her regular laying pattern and even once she is lying consistently there will be days where she doesn't lay as *most* breeds average 4-6 eggs a week

Okay, I was wondering how they could just start laying eggs every day. Thank you, that was exactly what I was looking for!
