First egg at 15 weeks!!’

I've seen 15.5 weeks. Not common, but not unheard of.

You mention tell-tale signs...?

Until recently, I've only brought in hens who were already laying. I have chicks, and I'll be excited to start seeing these signs...

The first sign was reddening if the face, waddles, and comb. The second was the submissive squat. And the third was she started getting very vocal in the days right before she layed her first egg.

I wasn’t expecting eggs this soon! One of my BSL/Asian black? just laid her first egg a few days later so now I have 2 egg laying mamas! The BSL is 2 weeks older (17 wks).
