First Egg Countdown

Is there somewhere I can hear an egg song? Youtube maybe? I'd like to know what that sounds like versus the screaming and cackling that Mama does everytime she sees me.

Congrats to everyone with those first eggs! My Blue Andalusian is really squatting a lot for me now, and my little splash silkie MAY be...she kept stopping in front of me on our way to the run for the night, and I got the feeling she was trying to squat. Hoping they join my EE in egg laying soon (She's laid three eggs in four days and the one today was a good bit bigger than the first two...easily a "small" size rather than bantam LOL!)

Its so perfect.... Right in the nest box. Laid by my black sex link Thelma. Its about the size of a medium egg. YAY. The wait is finally over

How old was she? I have 2 black sex links that are about 19 weeks and are not seeming particularly close.

She is 20 weeks today so yesterday she was 19 weeks 6 days She was not who I thought would lay first and had I not been there from start to finish I would not have known it was her. She is not as "ready" looking as 2 of my other chickens the gold sex link and the silver laced both look way more ready.

Mine are about 1 week younger than yours. Fingers crossed that they are on the same schedule as your chickens.

Ok so I said my silver laced looked ready she is soooo beat red in the comb,wattles, ears, face. I had never seen her squat. But last. Night me and the boyfriend were hanging a fly trap and he opened the run to give the chickens some grass and he reached down to pet her and she squatted. He said she has been doing that for him for over a week he said he just tout she liked to be petted. Omg maybe she just finds him more attractive than me. Haha eggs soon from her as she has been checking out the nest boxes for two days. Yipppppe

Watch for her checking out the nest box. If she has been squattng for a week, she should lay her first egg this week.
