First Egg Countdown

Aargh! 6 hens from Murray McMurray: 2 amercaunas, 2 buff orpingtons, 2 NH reds. Got them on May 15th. I swore I wouldn't stress over this like I did last year but I am. When oh when will I get my first egg?! Had them a month!

Lol they arent even a month old unless they were POL pullets lol

MM says they ship at 15 to 22 weeks. The buffs aren't supposed to lay until about 24. The others should be earlier. If 15 weeks at shipping then they are 19 now. Are these particularly late layers? I am hoping by June 27! Why do you think I have a long wait

I think the other poster understood that you bought them as day olds in May, if that's the case then you have a long wait, If you bought them as Started pullets as I understood it then you might not have too long, Im still unclear if you bought them as day olds in may or started pullets...lol am I making sense? cause I might just of confused myself lol

Thanks-no they are started pullets from Mmc that arrived May 15. They are great! Two Americaunas, 2 NH Red and 2 Buff Orp. MMc says they ship at 15-22 weeks. I am trying to wait patiently for eggs but thought I would look to the forum for ideas again. I will be clearer in the future

new hampshires and the Americuauauanas (lol) shouldbe the first to lay,and also i've been wondering about started pullets how was the shipping and stuff?

Hello and thanks for your reply. The shipping was well done. Three to a box and the PO called me immediately upon their arrival. Easy to lift out of the boxes into the coop. I thought at the time they were smallish but then I was probably mentally comparing them to my chickens I carried last fall which were full grown and laying. The only down side is that the shipping costs are expensive, to my location much pricier than the hens themselves. They are beautiful hens though.
