First Egg Countdown

Are you sure it's just 1? The coloring on the eggs seems to be a few shades different which makes me think you have 2 laying...
So--now, I'm curious. My 18 wk old CL, Aretha, laid our/her first egg on Sunday. I got another egg today (Thursday). Same size, maybe slightly smaller, but a slightly different shade of blue. My next oldest are 16 wks old CL. Surely, there's not a possibility one of THEM laid the second egg--is there? Their combs and wattles don't look like they're ready yet.

I'm reading all of these posts and getting super excited! I have 2 EE's, 2 BO's and 2 Auster whites that are all 17 weeks. A few of them have begun doing the squat some of you have described so I am really hoping for eggs soon! I have their nesting boxes all made up with hay and some golf balls in there to show them where to lay, but nothin yet!

Congrats to everyone out there with "first eggs" I am going to be one proud mama when I get my own! This is my first time raising chickens and I have to say I am loving every minute (well except when they poo on my back deck!)

A week ago today I was excited to post a photo of our very first egg. As of yesterday we have gathered 8 over the past week. 2 in one nest box yesterday. I can't wait to get home and see what we have today. So awesome!!

Huh. New eggs/first time eggs. So boring lol.

Just kidding!!!!!!

I added up all the eggs I got in June, our first ones ever, and we got 11 that month.

Now for July, the production really ramped up, we got 95!

Unbelievable for us, to go from 0 in May to 95 in July. Wonder what August will bring, 2 girls still to come on line.
Have not sold any yet, they are too delicious and we are giving some away for the fun of it.

can anyone help identify which one of our girls is layinfg these lovely little nuggets. I have two black aaustralorps, 2 salmon faverolles, one easter egger amd one golden comet. Austras loom the most developed but easter Egger seems to be hanging around where the egg
