Thank you, Happy Chooks. I set up their nest box today with a couple of handfuls of pine needles for them to play with, put out the oyster shell, and bought layer feed which I will transition them to when they seem imminent. The Barred Rock and the Welsommer (I know I am not spelling that correctly) are beginning to turn pinker, but the days are getting shorter, so I guess they will lay when they lay, but it's all set up and ready for them, now.
Okay, chickees, have at it. Time to think how you could be productive little chickens, figure out what you are going to do with your chicken lives. There are no free mealworms, girls.
