Wow! Eggs everywhere for you!

You are so right, I'll never go back to storebought eggs. I'd rather do without if my chickies don't lay.

So... we're getting a solid dozen eggs a day now. My sweet little chickies have decided that they like laying in the nesting boxes instead of going out to hide their eggs in random places.

It's just the most awesome thing, they line up to lay their eggs (most of them like the same box even though there are 5 available), and then they just go about their day, free-ranging and exploring new places. I never realized how much chickens like to explore. They finally made it down to the creek that runs along our property, omg, they are in love with the water!!!

I finally got my first eggs today! Two of them and they were in the nest box. My girls were born Dec 1 and I was beginning to think they were never going to lay. Decided they weren't getting enough light and turned my winter light back on. Yay!

They do take their sweet time, but it's so worth it!
