First Egg Countdown

I am waiting on 6 BO's to lay! Their combs and wattles have been red for a couple weeks now. Not sure exactly how old they are as I got them from a man who said they should start laying in April. My SLW just started to lay last week! I think I seen a squat, ( to be honest it looked like what I'd imagine a constipated bird standing their waiting!) lol so maybe soon!!!

22 Weeks and still no eggs! It should be anytime now, right? [/quot Your hens comb is still on the small side. Maybe a couple more weeks. I had some chickens lay at 23 weeks, some at 32weeks and one at 49 weeks!

Once they squat, it is usually only 7-10 days tip eggs!

Just a quick note about chickens. They get friendlier after they start laying eggs.

I hope it is soon!! I hate that I don't know exactly how many weeks old they are or if they are hatchery or breeder stock

Her comb is a bit on the small side, unfortunately. I'd say you have at least a month, if not two of waiting.

Watch for her getting LOUD LOUD LOUD, pacing, and squatting. Those are signs that she's within two weeks or less of laying.

Lordy my BO girls are soo chatty!!! They sound like a bunch of ninja chickens lol!! Waaa.... I can't just see them pulling some air kicks and back flips!!
