First Egg Countdown

Sounds like you are doing everything right, so now it's just a waiting game.

I think the wait is the hardest part of chicken raising LOL!!!

I do have 4-5 that will squat when I pat them, so should be soon, maybe a couple more weeks??? For those 4-5 atleast? I hope!!! Thanks again!!! They had their first forage, outside their run, yesterday evening...hoping that will help them along?!!!! Who knows...I'll try anything at this point!!! It was pretty funny watching them run all over and eat all the seeds and grass and play in the leaf pile...they sure had fun and did pretty good staying with Mr Roo also! I only had to guide a few back to him every so often...thought if they could run around, it might get things moving along????

Really? Is that from stress and is there anything else I could do? i worry with winter coming

They will be fine, even in winter. She won't go bare, it won't be a major molt, but even if it were, they'd be fine in he cold. They are smart about snuggling up to others.

She is going through a minor molt.  I too have some 9 month old pullets doing the same.  No need to worry, she will start back up when she's done.  Give her some high protein treats to help it along.
I agree with the snuggling up for warmth but she is the outcast and they wont allow her to be next to them

Chickens are well suited for the cold - no need to worry. Heat is more of a problem for them.

My Easter egger, I think she may be mixed with maran because she has very light barring around her neck, has been squatting for seven days... Not a lot though.. Once a day... I have to chase her to get her squat... She has a very small comb but has a very red face,,, I think she has a very small straight comb or a straight comb mix of some sort( if that can happen lol)... This is her a month ago but her comb hasn't changed much... Also, what color possibilities can she lay.. I don't want brown or cream:(

Mine that color lays an olive colored egg. If it is a marans/ameracuana mix the olive egger is a bluish black color. I have one I bred.
